Hellen Adams Keller was born in June 27 1880, in Tucumbia, Alabama. She had two younger siblings and two older half-brothers Auther H. was her father and Kate Adams was her mother.
Hellen was born with the ability to see and hear. When she was 19 months old, she developed an illness called 'a severe congestion of stomach and the brain'. The illness left her both deaf and blind. That time, was able to communicate somewhat with Martha, six-year-old daughter of the family cook. Martha understood her signs. by the age of seven, Hellen had more than 60 signs to communicate with her family
