Hockey is a national game of India however it is played all over the country. We have many popular games in India like cricket, football, tennis, badminton, etc. but these games are not officially declared the national game of India.From 1928 to 1956 it was the golden period of hockey in India when its brilliant players had won the six consecutive Olympic gold medals for it. They did the excellent job and regular victory and their outstanding performance was the reason for declaring this game as national game of India. Later, the future of hockey got in the darkness after the death of a hockey star player named Dhyan Chand.

Hockey is played in India from starting... it is a stick and ball game which can even be played by the branches of trees and normal ball by the normal people... in India we play many games like football cricket badminton tennis volleyball basketball and so many but Hockey is a special game because it is played from starting and India have given rise to many international players who are very good at hockey... Dhyan Chand is one of such players he was perfect in hockey and no one else could beat him in hockey he was known as the teacher of hockey and the best player ever born in hockey...
