There are many domestic household appliances that we use every day but we have no idea how they contribute towards global warming.
To start, appliances such as Refrigerators and Deep freezers contain something called refrigerants, which if allowed to escape in the atmosphere can create problems for the Ozone layer.
While newer appliances are well protected, older models of such appliances are common in low-income households and the third world and their 24/7 usage creates a lot of problems for the environment.
Other appliances such as Heaters and Air conditioners are heavily reliant of energy, which in return increases demand for electricity and if the electricity is produced from fossil fuels, can have an adverse impact on the environment.
