I am a mirror. I am your reflection, your memories, and your life; therefore I belong to you while you belong to me. I am a mirror: your past, your present and future. I am a mirror; are you one too? Although the meaning of life is yet a mystery, I will wait for you, to decipher your bewildered feelings. I admire the beauty within you; nonetheless layers of dust have buried your affections while you seek my attention.

Even though the twists of fate have led us here, disappointment overwhelms me with the speculation of only being your grievous reflection. Can I smile, cry and laugh, or I am a dull puppet pulled by the strings of destiny? If you leave I’ll be empty for an eternity; if you stay I’ll never reflect upon the meaning of my existence.

Are we from different worlds? Lead me to the truth and I will follow you into the dark when our lives become intertwined. I am a mirror, glancing at me you see yourself while every face is someone else. Plunge into the wells in my eyes and contemplate your tears until the anguish disappears. Look at us smile while becoming a pair of clowns, and if you    dance I twirl around.

The value of life is yet a mystery and the lying truths haunt us permanently. I’ll whisper the doubts encumbering your heart, as I am a magnificent mirror, as high as the ceiling, with an ornate golden frame, standing on two clawed feet. For decades and decades, for centuries and centuries, I have unveiled the greatest of concerns for the bravest in this life, encountering burdens from mice to death.

Longing for company, my joints creak with weariness as the Sun rides through the horizon in its golden chariot. Specks of dust slumber in my hunched shoulders, greedy mice nibble my Emmental cheese feet as the remembrance and antique glory of this elderly and erudite mirror is destined for oblivion.

Who are you really? You are only the reflection you observe in my crystalline glass; only an image, a brief snapshot that will eventually blur in the future; only a stain in the past. I shall live until eternity; your life is so brief, lasting only one breath. I see the flaws and strengths in your soul, I see everyone; all will be reflected in me.

Subsequently, you’ll cast me away like a broken toy, while I’ll believe it’s a shame for you to part in a rush to later come back and haunt me in nightmares. And you’ll leave again, even twice. I’ll be empty and lonely without you until a courageous soul will venture into the forest to seek my realities and truths in the wells of my eyes centuries after your disappearance.

Although your withdrawal will deliver stains of woe and pain in my pierced heart and seas will arise with all my tears in history, I’ll always reflect the light and darkness left in this world.

I am different; I am unique, as I am the one who will uncover the truth behind your actions and decisions; the one located in the impenetrable forest where everyone will discover their true self. Myths and legends are centred across my spirit from the four corners in this world, whirling in a million directions. I can turn your dreams into reality, your lies into truths. This is the magic that lies within me: the reflection or the reality?

Dear humans,

Good morning

I feel honored to have been given the opportunity to express my feelings and share my thoughts with you. As you know, all my life is spent in reflecting faithfully all that comes before my eyes. I have been a silent spectator of a zillion lives passing by me. My vision is very objective. I don’t respond to people when they search for themselves in me. My passivity usually agitates them. However, I am glad to be loyal and honest to the onlookers, cruel it might seem. I don’t have the power to manipulate or distort the reality that is why images on me are so significant to you.

I was made from silica into glass and then coated on one side with alloy paint to turn me into a mirror. I was brought by civil aviation authority of Chicago. I was fixed in the washroom of the Chicago airport. I have been serving here for the past 10 years. in the airport and I continuously stare at the opposite wall. We have been staring at each other for such a long period that we both appear to belong to each other. Our face to face interaction is only disturbed when there is no light or when the passengers look into me and I look into them.

But recently, I got a shock of my life. I was installed with a new technology. People washing their hands were once greeted by me but are nowadays greeted by advertising billboard mirrors and I gradually decrease in size and until I only take up a corner of the glass. The result is to allow members of the public to see themselves in me while also being able to watch the commercial.

I pray to the almighty to destroy this advertisement as I am left without air to breathe each time I am eclipsed by the advertisement. My link with my lifeline, my wall is broken and I become like a boat without a sail

Friends, you have two things that you can learn from me.

1. When you come in front of me and smile, I too smile, when you come in front of me and cry I too cry likewise, when you love people, they love and when you hate, they hate you, that means, you can understand that the others will behave in a way: in the way you behave with them, so move friendly.

2.  And the second one is, when I am broken into pieces, I will not lose my character. I will reflect you, even if I am broken into thousand pieces like wise you should not leave your hope, determination, hard work, confidence to achieve the success even though you fail many times.

I would like to ask you humans who come to see their reflections in me, I will call it the used portion of their life which got wasted for few minutes of hours, just to have a glimpse of fake reflection of their inner selves.

I would like to conclude, if you want to know yourself better or others better you must do the following activities.

1. Listen more and talk less

2. Be more observant

3. Catch words in a positive sense

4. Try to be more interactive with different people

Thank you..
