All the national festivals(Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanti) are very significant to the people of India as well as Indian people living in abroad, that's why we respect and celebrate all the freedomfestivals with lots of joy and enthusiasm.

Festivals play an important role in a country depicting its cultural and traditional values. Apart from religious festivals, each country also has some national festivals which are ofnational importance. These festivals play a vital role in spreading harmony, unity and patriotism in the country.

India is worldwide known for its cultural diversity and colorful festivals. Apart from these festivals, we also have national festivalssuch as Gandhi Jayanti, the Independence Day and the Republic Day. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Despite of the existence of many religions in India, the national festivals hold the greatest importance of every Indian’s life and are celebrated by every citizen of the nation with same interest. The national festivals are the celebration for some achievements by the country and celebration of these events annually makes us to feel marvelous past of the country. The national festivals are far above than religious festivals and we must respect them with utmost feeling.

Number of National Festivals

India celebrates three National Festivals in a Year with Republic Day on 26th January, Independence Day on 15th August followed by Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October. Each festival is unique in itself for the cause it celebrates and message it conveys to the people of Nation, thereby by holding much value for the people of India.
