Military of any nation is the largest organization that has the responsibility of protecting the sovereignty from hostile neighbors. Military not only protects a nation or its states from foreign aggressors, but also fights against threats within the nation or during natural disasters. Military of a nation is considered to be the most powerful organization and can accomplish any formidable and impossible task. The secret behind this power is the systematic organization and discipline of military. The size, weapons, and training level determine the lethality and efficiency of a military.
Advanced nations have better militaries than less advanced nations. The status of super-power a nation enjoys depends upon the size of its military. Some countries such as Israel, Norway, Switzerland, Iran, etc. have made military training for all its citizens mandatory. These countries do it for enhanced security reasons.
Inculcating military values in civil society will definitely make a better society. Imagine a society where every individual is strong, tough, trained, and skilled to tackle any emergency. Suppose terrorists plan a surprise attack in a society where everyone has taken military training, terrorists won’t be successful. Trained people will neutralize the terrorists.
Military instills discipline, courage, commitment, daring, honesty, obedience to rules and regulations. Imagine a society where everyone is practicing these values. That society will have no problems. There won’t be any corruption, delay in doing important work. India desperately needs this mandatory military training. There is hardly any systematic organization in Government run departments. Military training of people working in Governments departments will increase the work efficiency. Important jobs to be done will be done with military alacrity and agility.
People living near border areas won’t allow infiltrators to infiltrate into our country. They will neutralize them without any military assistance. Even the hostile countries will become cautious and avoid interfering with our internal matters.
So, in conclusion it can be said inculcating military values in civil societies will make them better; hence it must be made mandatory.
