School Quiz and Essay Competition To create awareness among school students on capital market, the Capital Market Development Authority, CMDA, organizes an essay writing competition and a quiz competition to the secondary schools of Maldives on an annual basis. The objective of these competitions include to create awareness among students on various capital market related issues and make the students as well informed citizens on capital market of the country when they start to work. School Quiz Competition 2007: The first school quiz competition on capital market was held in 2007 in collaboration with Dhivehiraajjeyge Adu. The competition was open to all secondary schools of Male’. A total of sixty six students participated in this competition from seven schools of Male’. The schools include, Aminiya School, Fareedhiyya School, Male’ English School, Majeediyya School, Dharumavantha School, English Preparatory and Secondary School, and Galholhu Madharusa. The winners of the competition were: 1st Place: Dharumavantha School 2nd Place: Majeediyya School 3rd Place: Fareediyya School School Essay Competition 2007: The first school essay competition on capital market was held in 2007. The competition was open to all secondary schools of Male’. The competition was open to both under 16 and under 21 age groups. The title of the competition was “Why do companies sell securities to the general public and get a listing on the stock exchange”. A total of twenty seven students participated in this competition from nine schools of Male’. The schools include, Aminiya School, Male’ English School, Madhurasathul Ameeru Ahmad, Centre For Higher Secondary Education, Madhurasathul Ahmadiyya, Dharumavantha School, Majeediyya School, Muhyiddin School, and Fareediyya School. The winners of the competition are as follows.
