It is mainly observed to honor the nurses in healthcare, for their diligence and service to society. 12th May is also the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. The theme for International Nurses Day 2020 was "Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Nursing the World to Health" however the theme for 2021 has focuses on a vision for future "Nurses: A Voice to Lead - A vision for future healthcare".
