Preaching requires thoughts and words whereas practicing requires thoughts and action. Of course, it’s easier to say something than to do it. But, there is a catch here. Preaching becomes easier and more convincing after practicing and it’s also said, “If you want to learn something, try teaching it.” People are more likely to follow you if you do what you say. Otherwise it puts a big question mark to your entire personality if your words and action don’t match. It questions your integrity. This is a big issue with most of the people now-a-days and especially so with almost all the politicians sparing a few. Modern day politicians say a lot of things, preach others what they should or should not do but do not follow it through their own action. It’s like a 4-5 months old baby advertising about how to use toilets or how to cook food. Since India is a democratic country, we, the people can play a major role here. We should vote only those people who have shown through their lives some degree of maturity and skill in handling issues confronting the common people. Though we do not have as many options as yet in India to have a firsthand knowledge about the politicians, we can still go for the least dubious character of all the politicians contesting election from a place. Coming again to our topic, preaching and practicing are two faces of the same coin. People who are good at preaching find it easier to preach; people who are good in practicing find it easier to practice. What’s your cup of tea, you have to find it out yourself!

It is so much easier to give advice to others while we ourselves are unable to practice what we have been advising to others. In difficult situations, people react with an added level of stress, and the person who is advising or preaching is not under.
Also, the emotional attachment of the person advising is different from the person who is undergoing the current situation. It is simple in retrospect to say that the situation could have been handled better.
In fact, even if the situation remains the same it will different how the different people react. Some may react in one way and some may react in the completely opposite way. So it is definitely easier to preach than to practice what is being preached.
