Journey By Train
Journey by train has its own appeal and romance. I have enjoyed many journeys by train. But one particular train journey stands out in my mind.
It was summer vacation; my family had decided to go to Shimla by toy train. We were to board the train from Kalka, a small railway station from where the toy train starts.
The blue colored coaches of the train were immaculately clean. Everything was comparatively smaller. It appeared to be fairy train. It started in the early afternoon. On the way it passed through long tunnels, very high viaducts offering the eye innumerable breathtaking views of the scenic beauty.
At hairpin turns, the train became very slow. Many passengers would get down the train an walk along. The train took a halt at some heavenly village station where we had some delicious snacks with tea. The weather conditions were exceedingly pleasant at the high mountains.
The 8 hour long journey was so beautiful and refreshing that we did not feel the lapse of time. We reached Shimla station at 7 p.m. We hired a cab and reached hotel fully rejuvenated by the beautiful journey. The entire family had so much of fun on that unforgettable train journey.
A Train Journey
Today I visited Chennai with my family by Kanyakumari Express. We took the train at 7 o'clock in the morning. It was a crowded train, however, atlast we got seats for us. I sit in the window seat from where I can see all the views and scenaries. We crossed many rivers and bridges during the journey. As it was an express train, it stopped only in one huge station, there we had our break-fast. There was an uncle who was selling coconut water to the people inside, I also bought one, it was very sweet. I saw outside the window, there were many lands with crops and plants, the birds were twittering all around with delight. We crossed two tunnels, it was complete black inside during that moment. We crossed many villages and cities. I shook my hand and said a “Hi” to many peoples during the journey from inside. After 5 hours we reached their. It was a wonderful journey.
