- Krishnabai Panjekar is one of the few women freedom fighters of Karnataka. She and her contemporaries Umabai Kundapur, Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay and Vishalakshamma played an active role in the process of freedom of Karnataka and were great warriors at that time.
- Gandhiji appreciated the role played by her in initiating protests such as the No-Tax Campaign.
- Salt satyagraha, burning of foreign clothes were few other protests which saw great participation of women force. Not just that,she along with other freedom fighters inspired a lot of women to join the protest through public meetings which instilled confidence and spirit of nationalism among other women.
- Although Krishnabai faced a lot of humiliation during the process of freedom struggle,she instilled a sense freedom among people particularly among women who had patriarchal bounds.
