Answer:

Love is expansion and selfishness is contraction' - the famous quotation of our idol, Swami Vivekananda. He tries to convey the difference between a person who loves and a person who is self-centred and mean.

A person who loves is the one who has the ability to live whereas the one who is selfish is the one who ultimately meets death.

It is true that one should always spread love among all the people as it can create strong bondings and get every people by our side during hard times. However, people are not always ready to help the self-centred and mean people as once their work gets done, they do not even acknowledge it.

Hence, selfish people are left to fight their battles alone whereas people are also eager to help a person who spreads love and thus, such people get saved from many unforeseen circumstances and even death.

Which alters when its alternation finds'. He also goes on to say that it is an ever fixed mark. In a different context than in the manner this sonet was written, such love is nothing but an expansion. When you do not have such generous towards anything, anything that you have is selfishness. Any form of gesture that is self consuming or confined to you, is noyhing but selfishness and contracts your limits.
