The Bible says we should treat our neighbors as our own self. In the light of the wisdom taught in this scripture, we should treat our neighbors with care and goodwill. However, it is easier said than done!
In the real world, people treat their neighbous not with much care and goodwill. Often arguments, conflicts, and even fighting can be seen on minor issues. Human beings have different temperaments. Owing to man's universal temperamental tendencies, arguments and brawls happen faster than peaceful coexistence and amicable resolution of differences.
So what is the solution then? Well, the time old values can stand us in good stead in maintaining peaceful and amiable relations with our neigbours. Patience, forbearance, compassion, responsibility, and mutual understanding can really help us live peacefully with our neighbours.
If our relationship with our neighbours is warm, it is a source of comfort and convenience for us. In our time of need, they are the closest to us. For example, if we are ill and alone, and enjoy warm relationship with our neighbour, that neighbour will stand by us or through our illness. So we must love our neighbours as God.
