Mahatma Gandhi was known for his non-violence protest and was a leading figure of freedom movements whether in India or South Africa.

With his efforts finally India got freedom from the colonial rule.

He always gave importance to human rights.

No doubt, Mahatma Gandhi is a true inspiration not only for the past generation but also for the generations to come with his ideology of non-violence, truth, tolerance and social welfare.

Mohandas Karamcahndra Gandhi was a non- violent freedom fighter who believed in the practice of 'Satyagraha'. He was renamed as Mahatma Gandhi for his great contribution. He also helped South Africa to attain freedom from the Whites. He made a lot of efforts to make India free from British rule. He was born on 2nd October, 1869. His whole life was full of struggle for independence. He led many movements such as Non- Coorporation Movement, Dandi March( Namak Satyagraha), Quit India Movement, etc. After struggling for a very long time, he died on 30th January, 1948.
