father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Bapu all this title spell the greatness of a person called Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

Gandhiji was born on October 2 1869 at 4:00 Bandar of Gujarat his father Karamchand Gandhi was the Deewan of Porbandar his mother Putlibai was a p boss lady with a strong will power

in his childhood Gandhiji studied at Rajkot after High School in the year 1888 he was sent to England for higher studies he became a barrister in 1891 he returned to India and started his career as a lawyer in Bombay now Mumbai.

Mohandas had in normal childhood like most of us even as a child he knew the difference between right and wrong. in the year 1915 he came back to India from South Africa the freedom struggle against the British started Satyagraha at the sabarmathi Ashram in Gujarat he asked the people to forget the feelings based on c a s t e colour and creed and u n i t e for the cause of freedom.

Gandhiji started the non cooperation Movement in 1920 he strongly believed in truth and nonviolence also called ahimsa he ask people to follow the Peaceful means when people became violent hi strongly opposed them Gandhiji also started the civil disobedience movement so as to protest against the salt he started the Dandi March he fought for the untouchables to Gandhiji was a Hindu hi show respect for all religions.

In 1942 Gandhiji started the q u i t India Movement as a result in 1946 he was asked to form an interim government on 15th August 1947 India got its independence.

unfortunately on 30 January 1948 when Gandhiji was going for prayer he was shot death by a person named Nathuram Godse the last words said by Gandhiji ware Hai Ram.

Gandhiji is regarded as one of the greatest freedom fighters of our country his Samadhi at Rajghat became a place of pilgrimage for people all over the country and world.
