Mahatma Gandhi’s life - My Inspiration:
Mahatma Gandhi has inspired me in many ways. Mahatma Gandhi is also known as “Father of the nation”. 'Mahatma' means great soul. Just like his name, he was an epitome of simplicity and always spread peace and was self-less. His life was a great motivation for not only Indians but also people abroad.
Mahatma Gandhi's great dedication and zeal to free us from the British empire, helped India gain Independence. He always believed that we can achieve freedom with non-violence and unity of the people. He started many movements like Non-cooperation movement, Civil Disobedience movement and Quit India movement to fight against Britishers to gain Independence. After a lot of struggles and hard works, India gained freedom from Britishers.
He also worked towards eradicating untouchability in the Indian society and uplifting the backward classes. Gandhiji gave a name “Harijan” to the so-called untouchables in the Indian society. He inspired Indians to use Swadeshi goods by boycotting things imported from outside India.
Mahatma Gandhi's life gives inspiration to the people to be a great human being. The life of Mahatma Gandhi has been an inspiration not only for Indians, but for people from all other countries as well. He inspired us Indians to live simple life and to be self-sufficient. Gandhiji favourite quote was “Truth always Triumphs” which means no matter what happens, truth always wins. So, he motivates one to always tell the truth and be disciplined in our lives.
