Today, almost four centuries after Shakespeare, it is used by several million people all over the world and has now attained a status almost akin to the mother tongue in many countries like India, Singapore, etc.
It is the language most suitable for the administrative jargon. It .is a suitable medium of instruction and is taught and learned with an avid interest at all levels. In India, it has proved a unifying force, mitigating to some extent regional and linguistic barriers, providing a common platform of communication for people who speak different dialects. It is, therefore, called, the associate official language.

Studying english helps an individual to progress in one's life professionally as well as personally. English is important as the international meetings are conducted in english, travellers and tourists also use english language. Learning english also helps one to get good jobs.
So, it is very important to learn english.
