During my eighth-grade Spanish class I was handed a rather short, simple book with 10 chapters. Rudimentary as it was, it was probably about what I could handle at this point in my education. I made my way through it, and at the end, I felt boundless excitement.
My comprehension of this new language had opened up a whole new world of literature and people I could understand and with whom I could interact.
