the Mahabharata was written by ved vyasa .it is a story about Kauravas and Pandavas They both fight for the throne.during Mahabharata patrilineal system was followed. as after the death of king the throne was given to his son daughters did not have any right to claim over the throne . there was a great war in kurukshetra between both and the battle was won by pandavas
