मला लहानपणापासून गाण्याची आवड आहे. लहानपणी आईबरोबर भजन गायचे. तरुण वयात सिनेमांची गाणी गायची पण गाणं सुरात कसं गायचं हे माहीतच नव्हतं. माझी आवडती गायिका म्हणजे आपली गानकोकिळा लता मंगेशकर या आहेत. पण त्या कशा शिकवणार आपल्याला हा एक मोठा प्रश्नच होता. माझं लग्न झाल्यावर काही वर्षांनी मी ठाण्यात रहायला आले. तेव्हा मला पंडित राम मराठे यांचे थोरले पुत्र पंडित संजय मराठे भेटले
मला लहानपणापासून गाण्याची आवड आहे. लहानपणी आईबरोबर भजन गायचे. तरुण वयात सिनेमांची गाणी गायची पण गाणं सुरात कसं गायचं हे माहीतच नव्हतं. माझी आवडती गायिका म्हणजे आपली गानकोकिळा लता मंगेशकर या आहेत. पण त्या कशा शिकवणार आपल्याला हा एक मोठा प्रश्नच होता. माझं लग्न झाल्यावर काही वर्षांनी मी ठाण्यात रहायला आले. तेव्हा मला पंडित राम मराठे यांचे थोरले पुत्र पंडित संजय मराठे भेटले. त्यांचं गाणं ऐकून मला लॉटरी लागली असंच वाटलं. मी त्यांच्याकडे पाच वर्षं गाणं शिकली. सूर कसे लावायचे, ताल कसा घ्यायचा, राग कसे गायचे हे समजायला लागलं. घरातील कामं पटापट आटपून मी तानपुरा व हार्मोनियमची साथ घेऊन रियाज करू लागली. हा गाण्याचा छंद मला लहानपणापासून असल्याकारणाने मी सतत गाणी गाऊ लागली. माझे गुरू पंडित संजय मराठे यांच्याकडून शिकलेले राग, गाणी मी आता माझ्या विद्यार्थ्यांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याचं काम करते. हा माझा छंद शेवटपर्यंत असाच रहावा ही देवाचरणी प्रार्थना.
