The Story of My Experiments with Truth is the autobiography of Mohandas K. Gandhi, covering his life from early childhood through to 1921. The book is written in two parts, the first part dealing with the earlier childhood days. He talks of his younger days, the early marriage that he wasn't happy about and even criticized. It also includes the death of his father and his son's births.

The second part of the book is a much later part of his life till 1921. The South African life experiences, his studies and also prejudices he experienced and thus the main parts of his life. He also narrates how he started his plan on opposing the Britishers' oppressive rule over his people. The discrimination that he saw being meted on the blacks by the whites greatly hit him. He saw how everyone deserved to be treated equally. He then came back to India, started his non violence form of protest which will eventually lead to much larger issues. This section covers till the very prominent parts of the history of India when the people started fighting for their independence.
