Eid Mubarak or (Arabic: عيد مبارك‎) is an Arabic term that means “Blessed Feast/festival”. The term is used by Arab Muslims, as well as Muslims all over the world. Internationally Muslims use it as a greeting for use on the festivals of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. Eid means "Celebration", and Mubarak (derived from the Semitic root B-R-K) means "Blessed". In the social sense, people usually celebrate Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and Eid-al-Adha in the month of Dhul Hijjah (the 12th and final Islamic month). Some state that this exchange of greetings is a cultural tradition and not part of any religious obligation.[1][2]

Each society has its own festivals and their importance also varies. People celebrate the festival to express their happiness together. Festivals create a new zeal to work in us, moving away from everyday routine. Some festivals are religious, some cultural and some national, which people of every section of every society celebrate together.

The festival of ‘Eid’ is celebrated on the first date of the Islamic month of Shawwal. The month of Ramadan is preceded by it, which the Muslim brothers consider a very holy month. Keep fasting for this whole month. Do not eat anything from sunrise to sunset. Rosa (fasting) is opened after sunset which is called ‘Rosa-Iftari’. Throughout the day, recite ‘Quran Sharif’ and offer Namaz as a rule. The whole month spends a pious life, helping the poor and the afflicted.
