Drawing is the most common form of art in the history of human kind. When it comes to drawing, people do it for various reasons. In my case, I draw because I am passionate about it. Drawing is my passion since my childhood days. Despite being passionate about drawing, I did not practice until my late childhood years. My uncle loves drawing too; he inspired me greatly during my early days in this hobby. As a form of art, drawing has its fundamental attributes that ought to be put into consideration all the time. There are the basic equipments that are highly essential while drawing. These equipments include, color pencils, crayons, ink, markers or graphite pencils. These are the basic instruments that one must have before they venture into drawing.
When I started my drawing journey, my parents were willing, and they bought me all the basic drawing equipments. Having these implements acted as a great inspiration to me. At the early days when I ventured into the drawing hobby, I encountered various challenges. Although I was passionate about drawing, I did not know the basic drawing concepts. Without these formal concepts, it is very hard to attain anything substantial in the drawing world. My uncle came to my rescue and taught me all the basic drawing concepts. The more I learned, the more passionate I became about drawing. With all the years that I have practiced drawing as my hobby, I have noticed that may people know nothing about drawing. Their minds are filled with assumptions which in most cases are not true at all.
There are temporary and permanent drawings. The difference between the two is the capability to be erased. A temporal drawing is short lived and in most cases can be erased easily. A permanent drawing is long lasting and cannot be easily erased. The materials used in drawing determine whether a drawing will either be permanent or temporal. There are distinguished materials that are made for either permanent or temporal drawings. Temporal drawings are majorly done on boards or paper. In this case, chalks, pencil or pens are commonly used. In permanent drawings, canvas, leather or cardboard are majorly used. These materials ensure that the drawing remains intact for a long time.
Artist who engage themselves in drawing specialize in constructing different formal structures. Some artists specialize in drawing animals, plants, people, buildings and many other artistic structures. The drawings that an artist constructs majorly depend on what he or she is passionate about. In my case, I am diverse in with my drawing work. I draw different forms of structures which range from people, animals, building and even vehicles. Diversification in drawing has taught me various attributes that have helped me in advancing my skills. Drawing is a sacred form of personal expression. Whatever I draw majorly depends on my feelings at that exact time. My drawings are obviously catchy and quite colorful whenever I am in a happy mood. A good example is when Barrack Obama won the presidential elections. His victory ignited a great sense of happiness in me. This led me to draw a picture of him smiling while the white house entrance was at the background. At times when I’m in a sad mood, my drawings conveniently represent my feelings. One year ago, I attended the annual 9/11 memorial service in Washington DC. The mood at the memorial service was sad, and it directly captured my feelings. In order to express my personal feelings towards the entire 9/11 accident, I draw the Twin Towers days before the bombing and how it looked like after the terrorist bombed it. This was the only possible way through which I could express my feeling about the entire accident precisely and effectively. This is a clear indication that drawing is more than just a form of art. It is a medium through which people can consistently express themselves without interruptions or any limitations.
Since my passion for drawing is so enormous and outstanding, I have gone ahead to research about it. My research about drawing informs me about other outstanding artist and their works. It also enhances my drawing knowledge by informing me about new drawing techniques. This is one of the major ways through which I have managed to sharpen my drawing skills. Again, most of the artists I read about act as an inspiration to me. Even though my academic workload is heavy, I still find time for drawing. With the many years spent in drawing, I have learnt that nothing can stop a willing person in pursuing their passion. I spent most of my free time drawing or doing research about other artists and their works. This helps in building my drawing capacity and inspiring me more. Drawing is a hobby that I become more passionate about with each passing day. This explains why I will go on practicing it for the rest of my life.
