He was a legendry batsman, known for his humble background, determination and hard work, due to it he is an inspiration for millions of young cricketers around the world. He received Arjuna Award in 1994. He announced his retirement from ODIs in 2012 and a year later he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He is also called as Master Blaster.
