My favourite South Korean person is an author, the famous Shin Kyung-Sook.
There are quite a many reasons for me to like her, honestly. The first and foremost reason is her creations. The moment I bought one of her novel, "Please Look after Mom" home, I did not expect it to change my life, for good. It was the first novel I had read by her and it moved me like anything. Later, the news revealed that she won the Man Asian Literary Prize for the same book. She is the first woman and the first South Korean author to be honoured with the aforementioned award.
Then I started exploring her writing style by reading all of her novels one by one. Though still my favourite of hers was "Please Look after Mom" I found out all of her works to be quite fascinating. They provoke questions in the reader's mind. "A Lone Room" and "Deep Sorrow" are the second best of her creations. They are quite of gems and I love her for her genuinity that gets reflected through her books.
