My Inspiration

In my life there have been many people and things that have been huge influences on me. Soccer is one thing that has been a big thing I my life. I have played soccer for almost twelve years, so it has taken up most of my life. Even though soccer is such a big deal to me, there is one thing that has influenced me much more then soccer or anything else. That would be my grandma. She is one of those people that have made such a big impression on my life. About six years ago my grandma had a stroke. That was just the start of her downfall. After some doctors and hospital visits she got better, and even started living on her own again. She never gave up and always wanted to help herself and not have other people to depend on. About a year later my grandma had another stroke, this time it messed up her brain really badly. She didn't know where she was, who I or anyone else was, or anything that was going on at all. After those two strokes she was put into a nursing home, because there was no other option. My mom being the only one left in her family took things very hard. She tried her best to go visit my grandma everyday. For the first two years she would go and feed her lunch. My grandma ended up being in the nursing home for four years until she past away in June. While in the nursing home it was obvious that the nurses didn't treat my grandma right. She would always have bruises and cuts that anyone would know that she couldn't have done them to herself being in a wheelchair. My grandma has changed my life in a major way. She inspired my life, because my grandma loved me so much, more then anyone else, I thin of her often. She inspires me to make good choices, because I think of what would make her happy and proud of me. I will never forget her or how much we meant to each other. I now have a special play in my heart for elderly people, because I know what so many of them have to go t...

Answer:

My inspiration is my brother. It comes as a surprise to many…which in turn surprises me. I don’t see any reason not to admire my brother for all that he has done and will do.

I see the reasons why some look down on him. He dropped out of college and this seems be an issue for many people. I see it as college isn’t for everyone and kudos to him for trying to make my parents happy by doing it.

But this isn’t why I am inspired by him (thought right now I also feel like being inspired to drop out of college with finals coming up). It’s what happened after dropping out. He kept going and going to make his situation better.

There was applying to jobs and not getting them, then trying to get certified in some degree and not being able to do this, then getting a job that he despised. My brother, the one I always looked up to, was working a job that he hated and could not seem to get a break with life. His life seemed almost easy for him when he glided through high school as part of the popular crowd, excelling in basketball and lacrosse, and then going to the college of his choice. I never felt more proud of him until all this was taken away and all was left was him alone. This is when he inspired me. He didn’t stop working toward his goal. He never gave up even when he wanted to.

Today my brother, the athletic, popular, college dropout, is now serving the country in the U.S. Navy. It took a lot to get him here but it’s the journey that inspires me today.

hope this helps u mate
