Namami Gange Project was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji. It was started to arrest the pollution of the holy river Ganga. Minister Rajiv Gandhi was the minister incharge of Ganga Action Plan. The key achievements under this program were Sewage Treatment Infrastructure ,River-Surface Cleaning , Afforestation, Industrial Effluent Monitoring, River-Front Development, Biodiversity, Public Awareness, Ganga Gram. It had started on June 2014. But it lead to a drastic failure. One reason for this failure could be the lack of effective implementation of the Namami Gange plan, with funds lying unspent. Namami Gange was announced as a ₹20,000 crore project, but actual spending has been far less. So now its our duty to help clean the river and also people associated to clean this river.
