My admission in JNV
When I was studying in class 5th, I gave an entrance exam (JNVST) for JNV without knowing what exactly is it. I just appeared, scored good marks and got selected for admission in JNV, Jaunpur. Only 2 candidates were selected from our block and I was one of them.
After selection, I came to know about JNV and its procedure of admission. I was just 11 years, too young to leave my family and to stay in hostel with unknown faces. I refused to go in the hostel of JNV, sat alone on terrace for half day and cried a lot. I was not ready to go at any cost. My elder sister (my idol), she knows how to make me comfortable and happy. She made me to understand the importance of receiving scholarship among so many students and asked me to grab this opportunity. Finally she convinced me and. somehow I got ready for JNV.
My 1st day at JNV, Jaunpur
My parents came to leave me with my luggage which included only box contained everything I brought along with me. Oh my god! I was so nervous and was crying continuously. I wanted to go back home but didn't say a single word to my parents being aware of fact that I have to stay here only. They were also emotional and worried. After clearing all formalities, they left me in girls hostel with my luggage.
Full day I kept quite. I wasn't sure what to do, whom to talk and what to talk. I felt that day was longer than any other day before and sad too.
My journey at JNV
I am an introvert person, do not open easily in front of others. Initially I found it tough to adjust but with passing time I learned to manage in hostel. Also learned to deal with different kind of girls coming from different places. I mixed with others, made good friends and I was fully enjoying my life at JNV although always kept remembering my family.
Daily routine of JNV was quite interesting and kept us busy full day. It included waking up early in the morning for PT, after PT freshen up time, breakfast, morning assembly, classes, Lunch, resuming classes, sports time in the evening, evening assembly, rest/study time, dinner, study time and at last it was bed time. Everything was punctual.
I was admired for studies, art and maintaining cleanliness in our hostel. Sometimes I was awarded with punishment too for bunking classes, talking in between classes and violating rule of visiting out of campus boundary. Overall it was a nice experience.
Usually my mother and sister used to visit twice or thrice a month in weekends. Though I was comfortable at JNV and availing all the opportunities of amusement but thought of going back to home did not evaporate.
