If only the world had followed the Indian way of praying the trees, the mountains, the wells and the sort – in short, respect every aspect of nature, man would have been able to create ‘Heaven on Earth’ and probably, God would have decided shifting residence with us too.
Yes, we have grown tangibly and our conveniences outside of us are better however, are we comfortable inside? Are we trading our long term happiness for short lived fun & joys? Nature is the best teacher and it teaches us that ‘as tall a shoot, that deep is the root’ and if it is a tree which is spread, it will have fibrous roots whereas a palm tree will have tap root. Are we balancing the equations in our life like the way nature is displaying the truth?
Instead of water harvesting, we are digging more wells which has depleted the ground water level. At first, we used to get water within 30 feet of drilling however, now we have to go over 500 ft. in some residential areas. A tar road is nice to drive/ walk on however, the rain water seems to be draining directly into the valleys and oceans. In the name of growth & conveniences, our factories, hospitals & sewerages seem to be continuously polluting our rivers, which is our main source of drinking water.
Our air-conditioners, while cooling our homes is depleting the ozone layer and heating up our Earth. Our vehicles and electricity generating plants using coal & oil furnaces have increased the carbon emission and is harming our atmosphere with adverse effects on the health of the people around. In the name of developments, trees are being cut, forests are being depleted at the other end, mountains are being cut for slabs of granite and in short, mother Earth is being tormented!
