The leading cash crop cultivated by the agricultural sector in Punjab is cotton. Other important crops of Punjab agriculture include sugarcane, potatoes, and groundnuts.

The agriculture in Punjab witnessed a marked improvement with the advent of the Green Revolution. This has brought a discernible change in not only the economy of the state but also the country as a whole.
