Different people possess different ideas. Some people believe that our parents cannot be the best teachers in our lives, but, in my opinion, parents are the best teachers in all stages of a young person’s life.
School mainly focuses on teaching children how to behave and communicate from an academic perspective. However, parents can teach us how to live in the real world. We rely on our parents whenever we confront an obstacle. During these predicaments, parents teach us how to bear the falls in life. They also teach us how to stay well-mannered as we mature. The better our family nurtures and guides us, the better understanding of life we will have. If we analyze our childhood, we can see that it is our parents who teach us how to walk, how to speak, and how to dress. Our parents are thinking about our future without being or getting exhausted.
Parents who can instill confidence, motivation, perseverance and commitment in their children help them to have a better life. Although we can’t ignore the role of school and teachers on a child’s upbringing, we must not forget that family is the source of better health, better education, and an overall better understanding of life.
As children reach school age, teachers help them to improve mentally. However, children only spend four or five hours a day with different teachers and the rest of their time is spent with their parents. Parents can be more active in helping their children, can spend more time with them and are better able to instill good values in them.
When children reach adolescence, they cannot have good communication with people unless they are taught by their parents. Parents help them to make good decisions about their behavior and actions. In conclusion, I believe that parents can be the best teachers because it is parents who teach us how to walk, how to behave with people, and how to distinguish right from wrong.
