Thank you for asking the question!
Plants play a key role in our ecosystem. they also has a significant role in the survival of different species. If one look at the condition of the plants fifty years ago, then surely he wouldn't believe his eyes. Compared to the condition and status of plants of twenty first century to the plant of few decades go will literally make you think over the cruelty imposed n these fragile living things by human beings. Fifty years ago plants were fresh, raw and natural. They were not stale. They looked lush green and firm. This was just because of the fact that there was no such thing like industries, vehicles, poisonous sprays. and etc. All these factor splay an important role in making the plant grow weak. Few decades ago there were no such thing, no harmful liberation of gasses, no polluted soil or contaminated water. eventually thus resulted in the rapid growth of plants. Plants need to be look after with great vigilance because if there cycle is disturbed then this can prove to catastrophic.
Hope it helps.

Plants are mainly multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. They form the clade Viridiplantae (Latin name for "green plants") that includes the flowering plants, conifers and other gymnosperms, ferns and their allies, hornworts, liverworts, mosses and the green algae, and excludes the red and brown algae. Historically, plants were treated as one of two kingdoms including all living things that were not animals, and all algae and fungi were treated as plants. However, all current definitions of Plantae exclude the fungi and some algae, as well as the prokaryotes (the archaea and bacteria).
