Even with my much meager knowledge, I can confidently assert that 'Private tuitions are a necessary evil'. These private tuitions are here to stay even though they are evil. As long as we have our present system of education and exams, as long as we lay undue stress on marks and percentages, as long as we have lakhs appearing for competitive entrance exams,parents and students will have to run to private tutors.
Today even the best of students need guidance and have to know the art of tackling questions in any exam. Schools have too many students in a class. Some schools do not have enough or competent teachers to cope with 45-50 students. So parents are left with no choice but to seek the aid of private tutors and tuitions.
In every city private tuitions are growing in number. People advertise for tutors. Admission in the best coaching schools is extremely expensive and difficult. It is so shocking to see parents taking their 3 yrs old to coaching classes for admissions to nursery schools!
Private tuition and coaching classes have become an important part of a student's life. The popularity of private tuition is indeed a direct fallout of and testament to the inefficient system of education in the country where there is a premium on academic excellence. This evil may have affected the childhood of the children. Nevertheless it has helped to shape their future careers by making them good professionals in their chosen field.
