                         Science and literature the dichotomy

Though science and literature appear to be two different genres, but there is no dichotomy between them. Rather they complement each other. Science tries to find ‘what’, ‘why’, and ‘how’ of life, and literature just describes life’s experiences in different shades.

Science depends upon literature for being recorded. For example, all the theories developed by scientists, all the findings recorded by scientists in experimentation are recorded in words, which is a type of literature.

H.G. Wells, famous science fiction books such as ‘The Invisible Man’, ‘Time Machine’, etc. are considered to be a very important contributions in the world of literature. There are other science fiction books also that are part of literature.

In conclusion we can say there is no dichotomy between science and literature.

Science and literature are absolutely two different fields of study which are essential and vital in their own ways.

If on one hand Science has made life better and easier on this planet, on the other hand literature has contributed enormously to the aesthetic and cultural needs of our creative minds.

We cannot deny or compare their benefits or importance in our lives.

Together they make us better as individuals and help us to lead a balanced and satisfying life.
