Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health
_____________________________________________________________
Fuel refers to substances used as sources of energy in vehicles, machines and factories. Petroleum fluids and coal are the main sources of fuel. Petroleum fuels are mainly used in transport and in coal-fired power plants. There are also many types of petroleum fuels such as petrol or gasoline, diesel, kerosene or kerosene oil, ATF, naphtha, natural gas, LPG etc. All these petroleum products are extracted from the separation of mineral oil or crude oil.
Millions of years ago, mineral oil was formed from being buried beneath the rocks of dead vegetation and organisms such as algae and plankton etc. Therefore it is also called fossil fuel. Because they can not be reproduced, they are also called non-renewable or ineffable energy sources.Due to the quick and easy fuel, petroleum fuel has been used extensively throughout the world for several decades. Only limited amount of petroleum fuel is available, so human society has the responsibility to protect it. If we currently conserve mineral oil, then it will be available to the next generation. By conserving fuel, we reduce the environment even less.
Many institutions of the world have come forward to save fuel and important efforts are being made in this direction. We can also play a commendable role in conservation of fuel by following the following habits and remedies in our daily life:
1. Use bus transport, such as public transport.
2. Do not leave the engine running the engine, like if the traffic signal is red, turn off the engine.
3. Do not keep the gas stove in the house if you do not use it.
4. Take care of the engine from time to time.
5. Keep appropriate pressure in the tire of the trains.
6. Use the car pool if it is in the office.
7. Do not press excelster in vain but rather drive in an economical manner.
8. Nowadays, electric and hybrid vehicles are also available.
9. Use cycles for short distance and if possible, walk on foot.
10. Do not have to heat the food repeatedly and so eat together.
11. Adopt power saving methods so that protection of coal is possible.
The Government of India will also implement BS vi Bharat Stage 6 Petrol and Diesel, by 2020, with the aim of doing pollution work, which will result in a lot of pollution emitted by the vehicles.

What is fuel?
A fuel is a material that has energy stored inside it. When a fuel is burned, the energy is released mainly as heat.
A good fuel should have these qualities:-
It should be cheap and easily available.
Its thermal value should be high.
After burning, it should be residual in excess.
There should not be any harmful substance during or after the burning.
Its gathering should be smooth.
It should have lowered its ignition temperature.

Fuel Conservation!
Fuels (mainly fossil fuels) are considered as inexhaustible because they are made up substance which are in limited quantity in the world. So we should conserve fuel for upcoming generation.
In India, the quantity of every type of fuel is very less. India has demand of petroleum and India has not much petroleum fields and refinery and hence, it has to purchase from other countries at very high prices which directly effect our Treasury. Because of this, India is becoming backward in terms of economic development. If this will continue for 2-3 decades then India will come in the list of poor and backward countries of the world. After burning, residual of fuel get mixed with air and pollute our atmosphere and this effect directly to living beings (especially asthmatic people) So there is need to conserve fuel.

Small steps which can be taken to conserve fuel are:-
✧Speed Limits
A driver should drive in a low and safe speed not only because to save life but also to save fuel. We know that harder we accelerate, the more fuel we are wasting.
✧Keep tires inflated
We should keep tires properly inflated because we know that if tires have low pressure, engine will have to work more and hard to pull the vehicle and will consume more fuel
✧Use LPG gas for cooking
We should cook food by using LPG gas instead of traditional methods because, in traditional method, wood is used as a fuel and its residual are more polluting as compared to LPG.
✧Use CNG vehicle
We should use CNG vehicle because production is easier as compared to pertol and is available everywhere.
✧Use AC sparingly
We should not keep AC on for long time in vehicle because it increases fuel consumption upto x2.
✧Encourage people to use public vehicle
Public vehicle as not only for poor people, the motto of public vehicle is also to reduce pollution and consumption of fuel. So we should use public vehicle as much as possible for transport.
