Social Media are interactive computer-based technologies that allow the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests and other forms of expression through virtual networks. It facilitates the development of online social networks by connecting a user's profile with other individuals. It has become a modern trend due to the active user rates.
Social media has taken the world by storm. Facebook currently has 2.2 billion users whereas Twitter and Instagram has 330 million and 800 million users respectively. The percentage of people misusing social media is more than the ones using it productively.
People use social media more to abuse the people they dislike and politicians and cine stars often fall prey to it. People vent out all their wrath and anger by bombarding tweet after tweet mocking them in every aspect they could. People even intrude in the personal lives of the victims and voice out their opinion on that. Celebrity fake accounts are being made and false stories about them are being spread.
Everyone should understand that social media is beneficial when we use it right. It's not for stalking people. It is for knowing where people are, what they do, what they think and what's happening around us. Every day we come across news articles about crimes committed from social media.
