Saying the Statue of Unity as the pride of India, won't be wrong. The massive building is situated in Gujarat on a river island of river Narmada, currently the tallest statue in the world, beating the height of former tallest statue, the spring Buddha, China. This enormous building is 182 metres long and is made in such a way, that it faces the Sardar Sarovar Dam. This Statue is of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the Iron Man of India. This Statue shows the magnificent architectural skills of India.

This project was announced in 2010, however, the construction started in 2014. The main sculptor of this statue is Ram V Sutr. The amount of money used on it is approximately ₹3000 crores. The building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on 31st October 2018, on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel and also the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi.

Sardar Patel is known for his contribution in merging many princely states in India. That's why he is regarded as the Iron Man of India. He contributed in the Unity of India and hence this statue is named as the Statue of Unity.

The total height of the structure is 240 metre, with a base of 58 m and the height of statue as 182 m. Interesting fact is that the height 182 was specifically chosen by the govt to show the 182 seats of legislative assembly in Gujarat.

The statue has a museum and a memorial garden for attracting the tourists. There is a gallery also present in the statue.

One can say that this statue describes the beauty of Indian Architectural design skills and is truly, the pride of India.
