steadiess means staying with same mindset all the time.it means not getting very emotional with your success or failure.accepting both situations.
to say more about this i think lord rama will become a best example.when he was decleared as the prince of ayodhya he did not feel overjoy and in the same way when he was asked to go for vanavas for 14 years he did not feel bad.that is what steadiness actually mean.
