Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also called as the Clean India Mission or Clean India drive or Swachh Bharat Campaign. It is a national level campaign run by the Indian Government to cover all the backward statutory towns to make them clean. This campaign involves the construction of latrines, promoting sanitation programmes in the rural areas, cleaning streets, roads and changing the infrastructure of the country to lead the country ahead. This campaign was officially launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 145th birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi on 2ndof October in 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a mission launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The main objective of Swachh Bharat is to strengthening the cleanliness systems in rural and urban areas.

Our Prime Minister requested all the people to involve themselves in this mission. Volunteers and some organizations in India are nominated to be the torchbearers in Clean India Campaign.

Swachh Bharat Mission is a national level campaign that included all the towns, cities, rural, and urban areas.

The government wanted to make people aware of health and education through awareness programs.

Swachh Bharat Mission aims to build sanitation facilities in all rural areas because this is the common problem in rural areas is that of open defecation. So Swachh Bharat aims to remove that.
