It is truly said that there is nothing either good or bad. Similarly, it is the

case with pocket money. Pocket money is a small amount of money which

is given by the parents to their children, periodically. Pocket money plays

an important role in a teenager’s life. A teenager learns a sense of

responsibility and knows how to handle money.

According to me pocket money is a must for every child and I am against

the motion that teenagers should not be given pocket money and I think by

giving pocket money they feel a sense of responsibility and most important

of all, they feel independent. Not only teenagers, but also children learn the

importance of money at a young age, and how to make the best out of it.

They learn one of the most necessary life skill, which is very important in

today’s world that is learning how to manage money. If children are given

pocket money they become financially independent, if they need something

they would wait for their parents they can just go to the market and buy all

the files, notebooks and folders or a sweet which they wanted to eat from a

while.

Pocket money can also be regulated by the parents; they can increase the

pocket money of their children if they get good grades or they did

something nice and can also be based on their behaviour. Thus, the child

not only learns to spend money judiciously, but it also improves their

character and performance and learning something new is a whole good

experience in itself. They realise how to manage money at an early stage

of life and when they earn their pocket money they learn the importance of

pocket money and then they spend it very carefully. Today, there are many

applications and many clubs to teach young people the importance of

money and how to use it wisely and according to one’s needs.

Pocket money is more of a boon than a bane. It helps children to become

independent and manage money smartly. With the right steps, we can turn

this generation into smart and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Explanation:

They should, without a doubt. Nowadays, as teenagers transition to adulthood, it will be beneficial for them if they have some experience handling money.

Giving teenagers pocket money when they are still young and under the supervision of their parents teaches them how to manage money. Teenagers can learn to make decisions and understand that sometimes waiting and saving money are necessary in order to acquire what they really want.

I found an interesting poll about pocket money being handed to kids and young adults when looking for a story idea today. I suddenly realized that this particular, intriguing topic had never been covered on this website previously. So allow me to poke fun at it.

For instance, you might want your child to drink two glasses of milk every day even though he may not want to; in such situations, rewarding the child with more pocket money would be inappropriate because doing so would be considered a "bribe," not pocket money. Similar to this, the pocket money penalty cannot be applied uniformly to all transgressions. The child may be enticed to take money from parents if they begin to believe that they will never actually receive pocket money as a result of some punishment.

If you decide to give pocket money, you must choose how much is appropriate, if the money will be awarded for performing duties, how much effort must be done to earn it, and how often it should be given.
