Telangana was established on 2 June 2014 as the 29th state of India. In the leadership of Chandrashekhar Rao on 29 November 2009, TRS started an indefinite hunger strike demanding the formation of Telangana. Due to mounting pressure on the central government, a five-member committee was formed on February 3, 2010 under the leadership of former judge Shri Krishna. The committee submitted its report to the center on December 30, 2010.
After all, due to heavy opposition and electoral pressure in Telangana, on October 3, 2013, the UPA government approved the formation of a separate Telangana state. On June 2, 2014 Telangana became the 29th state of the country and Chandrashekhar Rao took oath as the first Chief Minister.

Telangana formation day:

After various struggles and protests created due to indifference, the state was divided into two. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

It is celebrated as "Telangana State day"

History:  

The Congress passed a resolution in the Parliament in February 2014 for the formation of a separate Telangana state.  

Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act: Telangana state comprising ten districts of Andhra Pradesh was seperated upon the acceptance of the President on 1 March 2014.

On 2nd June 2014 Telangana was declared as a seperate state. The capital city was shared between the two states but will become the independent capital of Telangana after 10 years.

Celebration:

Every year on 2nd June, celebrations occur in all 30 districts and formal events take place recognizing the formation of the state.

Flag hoisting and a parade is presided over by the chief minister.
