Terrorist threat in bordering villages
Terrorist threat in bordering villages is quite high. The villagers living on border are at terrorists' mercy. In the dark dead of night, they can infiltrate any time and target the innocent villagers. This situation is quite serious in the North-east states of Asam and Nagaland. People live in perpetual fear of being attacked by the terrorists. At times they threaten the poor villagers and have to work as their accomplices. Border areas are vulnerable to terrorism as the hostile neighbouring countries not only train these terrorists but also provide all sorts of financial, logistic, strategic, and military help to these terrorists.
Punjab has already undergone much bloodshed owing to terrorism from 1980 t0 1985. Thousands of innocent people were massacred mercilessly by terrorists. Thousands of radicalized young men also lost their lives during the anti-terrorist operations. The scars left by the wounds of terrorism have not healed fully.
Now this evil of terrorism is quite active in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, and in the North East. The Indian Government must take measures to control the terrorist problem there. Anti-infiltration mechanism must be installed in such areas. The border must either be secured by constructing a fence or by installing sensors and radars. The BSF must always be on its guard to foil any infiltration bid by the terrorists. And the local people should cooperate with the army.
