Essay on the book that hooked me on reading please its urgent

We can't really know what books will shape us until they've already done their work. I don't remember why or how I ended up reading Anne McCaffrey's The Crystal Singer. All I know is it blew my little mind and introduced me to one of my teenage role models, Killashandra Ree.
Killashandra studied for years to become a singer, only to be told that a flaw in her voice would keep her from ever achieving the stardom she felt was her destiny. Her instinct to flee from her disappointment and humiliation made perfect sense to me, and I admired her bravery in deciding to travel to the mysterious planet of Ballybran. When she not just survives the infection that strikes all Ballybran arrivals, but adapts marvellously to her new genetic mutations, I was fascinated.
If you haven't read the book, that all might sound a bit mad. Back when I found it, I had never read anything like it before. Before then I think I'd believed that imagination was only needed for children's books. Once I found out there were fantastical fictional worlds out there for teens and adults, I was hooked. I read all the Crystal Singer books, moved on to McCaffrey's Pern novels, and fed my hungry imagination. Fantasy series filled my shelves from then on.
The world of the crystal singers was unique and I really admired the brain that came up with it. Since my first encounter with Killashandra I've read so many novels with fantastic world-building, but The Crystal Singer was the first. My first copy has long since fallen apart after being read and reread by me, and then by my sister, who landed on Ballybran a few years after I did. But more about my sister and our sister book club in another post.
Plz mark as brainlist.
