Festivals Promote Peace, Friendship and Morality
David Binder has rightly said, “Festivals promote diversity, they bring
neighbors into dialogue, they increase creativity, they offer opportunities for
civic pride, they improve our general psychological well-being. In short, they
make cities better places to live.” It is quite true! Festivals are the vibrant
colours of life. All of us so longingly wait for their arrival. When the burden
of the monotonous studies and routine becomes annoying, festivals come as
welcome rejuvenation breaks.
Festivals bring happiness, cheer, hope, optimism, celebrations, lights, joy, cooperation and many more pleasant things in our life. During Diwali, Christmas, Holi, Eid, Gurupurb, Passover, or any other festival the world appears to be a heaven. It appears as if the entire world is attending a wedding celebration. Children, adults, teenagers, elders, and middle-aged people all of them love festivals.
Each festival teaches some deeper lesson of life also. Each festival represents some very essential moral value, in celebrating we are reminded of the great personages who were the embodiment of those moral values. Festivals make our moral fiber strong.
The most wonderful thing about festivals is they bring nations, neighbours and different communities together. They bind the entire humankind with the joyous thread of happiness and celebrations. They not only promote national integration, but the world peace also. As Keats has said, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” So the festivals of the world are the beauty and soul of the world.
