CHILDHOOD OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is the ninth Sikh Guru. He was born on 21st April 1621 in Amritsar
He was the youngest son of Guru Hargobind. He was first named Tyaga Mal but later came to be known as Tegh Bahadur.
From the time of his youth, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had a deeply meditative nature. In his early years, he learned Gurmukhi, Hindi, Sanskrit and Indian religious philosophy. He was trained in archery, horsemanship, and the use of a sword.
At 13 years of age, he went to a battle against the Mughals. After the battle, the Sikhs honoured him as Tegh Bahadur ji (Mighty of Sword).
He eventually moved to the isolated village of Bakala and spent several years contemplation and prayer.
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was executed (by beheading) on the orders of Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor.
