Since the second grade I have had a passion for environmental protection. I am always looking for more ways to share my enthusiasm with the community. So when I entered high school, I joined the Environmental Club to work with other students who were passionate about protecting the environment.

When I joined, a group of five students collected and sorted the school's recyclables. With over 2,500 students and faculty, it's like recycling for a small community, and while recycling is very important, I wanted to make an even bigger impact in my community.

Since joining in 2013, I have been working to expand the Environmental Club to get even more involved. She began volunteering at a local nature center to educate younger children about important environmental issues and began organizing environmental concerts. It also launched the "Idling" campaign, which called for community awareness of air pollution.

My main goal as president was to help people feel like they belong in my community. One way I have done this is to introduce the incoming freshman to the many different clubs and organizations that my school has to offer.

I organized club fairs and coordinated over 80 club leaders to host Tiger Welcome events so that the class of 2021 and future classes could become more involved in the community and make friends with similar interests. Another way I worked to bring the community together was by hosting a Veterans Day breakfast where I invited all the veterans to eat at my school and thank them for their service.
