It is a big opportunity to all of us to save our healthy environment and green earth by saving trees. Trees are symbol of life on the earth and natural home for many people and wild animals. Saving trees have been must at any cost in such a modern world where urbanization, industrialization and global warming is going very fast. In such a technological world, where people are fighting and working for themselves only, only trees are living for benefiting others (human beings and animals).
Trees are nourishing life on the earth in many ways by providing fruits, vegetables, foliage, flowers, spices, cool shade, medicines, roots, bark, wood, sprouts, etc. One fully grown tree may serve humanity for many years without getting anything in return. They prevent us from many diseases by purifying the air, maintaining the ecological balance, providing medicines, etc. Plants are like important assets prevent soil erosion, provide habitats to the faunal species, provide nutrients to soil etc. I have mentioned following ways to save trees and environment:
We should make some effective efforts from our own end by joining the organizations working for save trees.
We should make our trees saving service volunteer so that other people may also motivate.

Importance of Trees and Forests
We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change. Yet, despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear. Our failure to take care of our forests is threatening the very existence of man and wildlife. Legal and illegal commercial logging had taken its toll on our environment.
1. Trees stabilize the soil. In the absence of trees and forests the fertile top soil is washed away by rainwater making cultivation impossible.
2. Trees prevent desertification. The famous Pink City, Jaipur is being encroached by desert due to the absence of trees.
3. Trees retain water in the soil. Without forests the entire rainwater flows into the sea. The water is then not available as ground water. Thus we experience flash floods followed by severe droughts. The underground water level also sinks and cultivation becomes impossible.
4. If deforestation continues unchecked and if afforestation is not taken up on a war footing, water management experts warned that there will be violent riots for water due to scarcity caused by droughts and pollution of rivers and lakes.
5. Trees are water bearer. Without trees rainfall will decrease and cultivation will become rather a matter of luck. Worldwide food scarcity causing famines is expected as food grain productions diminished due to low and unpredictable rainfall.
6. Trees are oxygen cylinders. Trees absorb the harmful Carbon dioxide and release Oxygen. Deforestation contributes to the decrease in oxygen level and increase Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Increased Carbon dioxide level results in lungs diseases, cancer and lower life expectancy.
7. Trees are air conditioners. Trees keep the temperature temperate. Trees and forests are habitats of wild birds and animals. Tree covered lands are the store house of many medicinal plants.
8. Trees also reduce air and noise pollution and add beauty to the landscape.
To save our home, the Earth, and all life in it people must prevent further felling of trees and start planting trees on a mass scale.
