"A picture can paint a thousand words." I found the one picture in my mind that does paint a thousand words and more. It was a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture in the writing center; the writing center is part of State College. The beautiful colors caught my eye. I was so enchanted by the painting, I lost the group I was with. When I heard about the observation essay, where we have to write about a person or thing in the city that catches your eye. I knew right away that I wanted to write about the painting. I don’t know why, but I felt that the painting was describing the way I felt at that moment.

Cave paintings are the most difficult form of painting which I like.

• The origin of painting is thought to be in prehistoric cave paintings. These paintings were created to capture daily life at that time.
• At that time, people began to understand the importance of artistic expression.
• By using paints, pigments, and other substances, painters surface images on canvases or other surfaces.
• Painting can be done with a variety of media, including oils, acrylics, watercolours, and more.
• The lovely use of colour is in painting. Images printed on canvas or any other surface demand artistic talent. Preparing the surface, under-painting or blocking in colours, laying the paint, and combining colours are some of the steps of painting.
• To create intricate colours, more coats of paint are added to the surface.
