RainWeather-The Most Important Element: RAIN

As we all know, the three essentials for survival are water, food, and air. The most important element of weather is water. We get water in different forms of precipitation. Rain is the most beneficial of all types of precipitation. Rain is what harvests our crops that give us food to eat. Without rain, no crops would grow and we would parish off the face of this Earth. Also, keeping our air clean is essential because we need air to breathe. Since water, food, and air are so important for our survival as human beings, I decided to do my report on factors of rain.
The Mississippi River, the Great Lakes, and countless other river, lakes, and streams make up the water cover of the United States. What few people realize, though, is that a lot of our water is stored beneath the ground. The water is held naturally in cavities called aquifers. In urban areas, water supplies are stored in holding areas called reservoirs. Everyday, Americans are using water that comes from all of these sources.
As many people are familiar with the water cycle, they fail to realize how important it really is. The water in Earth’s atmosphere condenses in the sky around small particles of dust. This procedure that is referred to as condensation is the process whereby water vapor changes to the liquid state. Then, rain falls from the clouds to the ground and makes its way into rivers, lakes, and aquifers. Eventually, almost all of the water evaporates back into the atmosphere from the sun.
The demand for water is very high throughout the United States, especially where natural water resources are limited. Farmers use 140 billion gallons each day to grow crop and raise livestock. Industry needs 30 billion gallon for jobs that involve cooling

The rain is a symbol of good that happens to the Earth.  When Gods are Happy with us they send us their blessings in the form of rains.  Although some people hate rains, they are a symbol representing all is well.  The rain is romantic and makes one pause one's activity for a moment and think of one's dearest from the heart.

Rain is a part of our ecological system.  Water exists in the form of liquid in water bodies, underneath the surface of Earth as ground water, as vapour in the clouds in the sky, as humidity (vapour) in air around us, as ice on high mountains and on the poles.  In our tradition we treat water as sacred and as a Goddess.   Water from various water bodies evaporates into the atmosphere due to the heat of Sun.  It becomes clouds.  When the amount of water is too much or when clouds collide or when there are electric discharges occur, water from the clouds fall back on to the Earth.  It is such a beautiful process of our Universe.

Rain water is normally pure.  It is contaminated a little only by our pollution of atmosphere.  Rain waters fill the depleted canals, rivers, ponds that are the houses for various water animals.  They are the sources for agriculture.  Rain waters also replenish the underground reserves.  Unfortunately, India has some regions of heavy rainfall and some regions of no rainfall.  Because of the need of rains for agriculture and growth of forests, we do rain-seeding for artificial rains.  Rains help forests to grow.  Rains grow the vegetation for herbivorous animals to get their food.

The rains are closely monitored at highest levels in all countries.  Rain water is precious that we do rainwater harvesting too.  There are disadvantages of rains that in improperly planned towns, the roads are flooded and people are inconvenienced.  Non-uniformity in distribution of rains over the country is a sad fact.  Floods cause relocation of people and loss of property.  Other than that, rain makes the young feel romantic.  Children feel joy on seeing and playing in rains.  Every year sages pray and perform yagnas (sacred Hindu rituals) for rains.

Before the rain falls, the weather becomes so pleasant and cool.   We feel relaxed.  I like the rain and like to play with the drops and splash them on my face and body.  I have also seen rain with hails.  It is so exciting to feel the cool feeling and experience of rain.  Rains are a common subject of many poets, stories and films too.

If rains do not fall, then we have a lot of problems.   The land becomes very dry. There cannot be any vegetation and there cannot be any agriculture in those lands. The drinking water reserves under the ground will go further down. People will not have much water to drink after the season.  The farmers who depend on rains for farming will not be able to do anything. They cannot live anymore. They have sell their lands.  There will be less water in reservoirs. We will have less electricity from the hydro-electric projects. We will not have enough water to feed to crops. The states will fight for water.   Due to the scarcity of water commercial water sellers will increase prices of water bottles.  There will be changes in the eco-system. The dry winds will affect the climate of neighbouring regions.
