Aren’t we all grateful to the Mother Earth for providing us with invaluable natural resources like water, trees, sunlight, air, oil, wind, metal ores, energy, fossil fuels, etc.? Now imagine living on an earth which is depleted of all these resources and full of debris and waste. Yes there is a possibility of this happening if we carelessly waste our resources so freely given to us by nature.
The growing population in the world has changed the pattern of consumption and therefore led to more waste, threatening the global ecosystem and upsetting the natural balance (Bowden 4). With more people living on this planet, there is more consumption of resources, and we are only taking from the Earth not giving it back. It is rally time to act now and one solution to reduce waste is to recycle anything and everything we can.
We need to become more mindful of our consumptions and be judicious in throwing away things or wasting materials, lest a time may come when humans would be deprived of what is so easily available now, for e.g., water. Imagine your bank account from which you keep withdrawing money for your needs but not investing back in it. A day will come when all your monetary resources will be exhausted and you might be bankrupt. It works the same way with the Earth. We need to be more gentle on it and learn to invest in it, so that our future generations have enough resources. And trust me, its not such a Herculean task.
